Last and best price on carpet

Pixagogo direct photo link

I will give you the good price on silk carpet. This carpet shown is 6'x4' $500 - silk on cotton (80% silk, 20% cotton). The shopkeepers that sold me this 100% silk carpet (not shown) are selling this one at or below cost based on the research I've done shopping around because they are leaving tomorrow and want to sell before they go. Sorry I didn't make that clear earlier. If Steve or Sharon or anyone else is interested in a carpet, I think this is your best bet. But they are taking it this evening so it's now or never. I don't feel like bargaining carpets anymore so if you are interested this one shown is as good a bargain you're gonna get. But really, they are leaving Thursday evening.

hah! nice one man.
i don't think i know anyone that would drop that kind of money on a carpet, lovely though it be. so you may be toting it around for awhile.
sorry you're already over-budget for the entire trip. maybe you can return the carpets for a little less than you paid, unless of course you're already out of town.
something like that i also think would be very difficult to sell on ebay because people can't actually see it or touch it or be certain of the authenticity of it.

good luck man. hope you're having fun.

'Tis a pretty carpet, but man is it gonna suck lugging it all over India. Good luck offloading it.

Maybe you can mail it home -- Nora sent stuff before, via some local pack-n-ship place that sewed it all into a custom bundle. Although it took many weeks, it arrived safely. (But I think none of her items was as expensive as your carpert, and even the whole bundle was probably less.)

No no no.. sorry I wasn't clear. This carpet is for sale - apparently $100 below cost. So I posted it in case anyone wanted to get a good deal on a carpet. The one I bought is small and 100% silk. The deadline for buying this one is Thursday evening. Let me know if you're interested. I did some research and it does seem like this is a very good deal so that was why I posted it and that was why I called and left a message Steve.

Okay, I hope too I can sell them because if I can't I'm going home early!!

Jake, what are you doing?!! Stop shopping, yaar. It was a scheme we were to do together, starting small and cautiously. Don't go crazy. oyvey.
We have finally made it to Benares and it is wonderful to be back, old friends around every corner and all the familiar sights, sounds, smells. Aaaah. You must come soon. Do a trek already and hurry down here. It is much less expensive and we'll keep an eye on your impulsive shopping.
Hope it all works out.

Jakie-ji,
The carpet is beautiful but I am reluctant to spend the $$. Have you already bought it?!? Are you in trouble? I can show it to richer friends if you like.
Take care!

The carpeteers are leaving for Srenegar today so prolly not possible. I got carried away buying shawls, not paying close enough attention to the rupees/dollar exchange. I checked Ebay and seems people are selling Kashmiri shawls and for good prices so prolly doesn't bode too well for me to get rid of them on Ebay. Karen Allen is selling shawls, not sure the quality or type, but she's selling them at like $575 in Great Barrington so maybe she'd be interested in buying some of mine.... I already emailed her about the carpet I bought but she said she didn't have space in her tiny shop, but maybe some shawls? If I am unable to make any of my money back I will be in trouble if I want to travel, but if I am very stringent and DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE while I'm in India and hang out in Veranasi than I might manage. I haven't bought this carpet shown here. Not sure what I was thinking, other than nice shawls, hehe, but I'm not too worried, I'll figure something out. This has forced me to get recourceful. :)

Jason, you are hilarious. I have not been keeping up, got my own dramas, but you seem to walk into them all over the place. Yeah what's with the travelling sales man? So enjoy, sorry you spent money on the shawls, they will make great presents! Even though you are keen on selling them. Go trek and get south? to Nori, she'll track your shopkeeper impulses!! And definetely don't do the scary trek. Love the Little Big sister
